'Nick Spencer Wines is a small, family run winery dedicated to producing exceptional, handcrafted wines that honour the New South Wales landscape. I have spent a lot of time talking Chardonnay with Nick and we both feel that his offering is an exceptional example of Chardonnay from our home state.'

The Wine

'Nick’s Chardonnay is made from fruit coming from the Maragle vineyard in Tumbarumba. Picked slightly later than usual and spending 15 months in old oak - the reason being was to make a rounder and richer style of Chardonnay that still showed classic Tumbarumba crunch and finesse. The nose is quite subtle, with lovely hints of peach, stone fruit and cashew nuts. However, the texture on the palate is the winner for me... Like a big old cup o’ butter. Perfect with a 70’s style prawn cocktail, a roast chicken or when your folks come round for dinner.'

'Will Gilbert, from Gilbert Family Wines, is a 6^th generation winemaker and one of Mudgee’s rising stars, recently taking out the ‘People’s Choice Award’ at the Young Gun of Wine Awards... which is THE award you want to win! We’re showcasing his rosé, as it’s the perfect tip of the hat to what Will is all about.'

The Wine

'His rosé is a blend of varietals, Sangiovese, Shiraz and Zinfandel. The wine is super light in colour, nice and dry whilst it still has loads of flavour!! Pink grapefruit citrus characters on the nose, with a palate packed full of pepperberry spice. Drink with a summer tomato salad, any type of cured meat or at the park with your mates.'

The Wine

‘A cool climate Pinot Noir that teases the palate with ripe strawberries and red cherries, wrapped in a seductive scarlet hue. A touch of cinnamon spice weaves through this light red, offering delicate plushness that invites another sip.

Great with a mushroom risotto or a more traditional pairing of roasted duck breast, where the wine’s gentle fruit and savoury notes complement the earthy richness of the meal.’
