‘Intrepidus means fearless in the unknown, reflecting Chrissie Smith’s bold career change to winemaking as a single mother of three during a divorce. In her spare time, (lol) she helps run the Canberra Wine Show each year and sits on the board of the Canberra Viticultural Society.’
The Wine
‘Her riesling, known for its balance – especially the ‘off-dry’ style, which offers a hint of green apple sweetness and cherry blossom notes. While this may seem unconventional for Australian riesling, the right climate (the cooler, the better), acidity, and texture create a complex, food-friendly wine that playfully dances on your palate. Sommeliers particularly enjoy it post-shift, paired with Korean fried chicken, Kim Chi and chilli sauce.’
